To serve survivors of sexual and domestic violence and their children, help us reach our goal to dig an on-site water well for AAH.
Benefits of a Well
The region where the Agatha Amani House (AAH) is located lacks access to water. Drought conditions are not uncommon in the area which often leads to a water crisis. Therefore the shelter currently relies on the daily and costly purchase of water delivered on donkey carts. A key objective of the AAH is to achieve maximum sustainability and minimize subsidies from others. Building an on-site water well will not only give the shelter reliable access to water but also give us the ability to grow our own crops, care for our survivors, animals and outreach.
Estimated Cost: $25,000
We are in desperate need of an on-site water source to provide for the daily needs of the shelter and its survivors. Due to AAH’s remote location and the water table being over 250 meters deep, the cost to build a well is high. We need your help to reach our goal of $25,000 to build our own on-site well.
